The Jalex Flock
Commercial Sheep
The Jalex Commercial Ewe Flock consists of approx 600 Cheviot Mule ewes that all go Suffolk tups.
The emphasis of the flock is to produce ewe lambs for replacements. That is ewe lambs that are bred from the start to be breeding sheep and not fat lambs. Our ewe selection and our Suffolk tup selection is all based on breeding a maternal, tight skinned, sharp headed, characterful lamb that would be asset to any flock.
Pedigree Suffolk
The Jalex pedigree Suffolk flock are trying to take their Suffolks in a different direction. We aim to produce tups with the commercial sheep farmer foremost in our mind - these will be tight skinned, medium boned, clean haired tups with plenty of life and character.
